Resumen
La decisión de elegir una futura carrera profesional es un proceso complejo, una etapa de desarrollo caracterizada por la exploración y el autodescubrimiento. El objetivo de este estudio es predecir las intenciones de los estudiantes de secundaria de cursar estudios universitarios mediante el examen de la influencia de factores clave, como la exploración profesional, la conciencia de las habilidades personales y el papel de la orientación profesional. Los resultados indican que la conciencia de uno mismo, junto con el discurso de los compañeros, es un predictor significativo de la probabilidad de cursar estudios universitarios. Los resultados destacan la importancia de la orientación profesional y los debates entre compañeros a la hora de influir en las aspiraciones educativas de los estudiantes. Además, se destaca la importancia de los servicios profesionales dentro de las instituciones educativas, especialmente en lo que se refiere a orientar a los estudiantes para que tomen decisiones informadas sobre su carrera profesional. Los resultados de este estudio ofrecen información valiosa para los educadores que desean orientar a los adolescentes en sus procesos de toma de decisiones profesionales.
