Abstract
The research presents the ethical and legal challenges regarding artificial intelligence, both in Europe and in Colombia. The latter has become one of the most discussed and controversial topics. The concern of governments, who see the opportunities that AI can offer society, but fear that its use could cause problems that exceed the apparent benefits. The European Union has approved the community regulation on artificial intelligence: the Artificial Intelligence Act. In Colombia, the government has recognized the importance of artificial intelligence, with its respective risks and benefits, however, it has not translated into an effort specific regulatory. The method of this study is documentary research. It is concluded that the European legal framework constitutes a good example of regulation of artificial intelligence and the need to have in Colombia a regulatory framework that generates legal security and minimizes risks.
