Abstract

The Russian writer Leo Tolstoy (1828-1910) is an emblematic figure of global literary realism, since his artistic production transcends spatiotemporal limitations to establish itself as a cultural legacy of universal scope. His exceptional talent encompassed not only the elaboration of fictional worlds of great structural complexity, but also the development of an ethical thinking that challenged the institutional bases of his historical context and continues to confront today's societies. This brief review examines, from an interpretative perspective, the work La guerra ruso-japonesa (1904-1905), published by Ediciones Clío.
